Filters
TSS filters are essential components in laboratory water analysis for determining total suspended solids concentrations, typically consisting of pre-weighed glass microfiber filters with specific pore sizes (commonly 1.5 μm) that effectively capture particulate matter while allowing dissolved substances to pass through. These specialized filters must be properly prepared through drying and pre-weighing procedures before sample filtration, then dried again post-filtration to enable accurate gravimetric determination of suspended solids content in accordance with standard methods such as EPA 160.2 and Standard Methods 2540D.
