Description

Syringe filters are useful for filtering particulates from samples. Highquality and cost-effective disposable syringe filters are available in a broad range of membrane materials. Select syringe filters with glass fiber prefilter to aid in filtering viscous or turbid solutions. Cellulose acetate (CA) filters are nitrate-free, making them suitable for groundwater and EPA testing. Polyamide/Nylon (PA) filters are recommended for aqueous and organic/aqueous solutions and are commonly used for general laboratory filtration, including HPLC and GC sample prep. Polyvinylidene Difluoride (PVDF) membranes are recommended for filtration of water-soluble oligomers and polymers, especially proteins. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) are ideal for the filtration of nonpolar liquids as part of chromatography preparation and are very resistant to solvents, acids, and bases.
